Hi
I’m Maria, a storyteller swapping time between the mountains of Montana and Mexico.
My love for the written word has been lifelong. Beginning in the 3rd grade, when I won the Literary Award, I realized I had more than a love for reading and writing though–I had talent. Year after year, I breezed through my English classes. Not only did I score high marks, but I had FUN! I am so blessed to learn from such great teachers and mentors (including my own father who taught high school English for over 30 years.)
Originally, I entered the Business Program at Virginia Tech as a college freshman with a desire to eventually enter the Advertising and Branding fields. However, my the Accounting course required for business was dreadful. I decided if I was going to be in college, I might as well enjoy being in the classroom. So I followed my heart and majored in English Language and Literature with a minor in Media Studies from the University of Virginia. I loved my classes and wish I could go back and do it again!
I’m proud to follow my heart and to be building a career out of my love affair with words and the power of story. I hope you’ll join me on this journey of learning and growing and contributing our crafts to this world, together.
